Gaussian Z Channel with Intersymbol Interference
In this paper, we derive a capacity inner bound for a synchronous Gaussian Z channel with intersymbol interference (ISI) under input power constraints. This is done by converting the original channel model into an n-block memoryless circular Gaussian Z channel (n-CGZC) and successively decomposing the n-block memoryless channel into a series of independent parallel channels in the frequency dom...
متن کاملAdditivity properties of topological diagonalizations
In a work of Just, Miller, Scheepers and Szeptycki it was asked whether certain diagonalization properties for sequences of open covers are provably closed under taking finite or countable unions. In a recent work, Scheepers proved that one of the properties in question is closed under taking countable unions. After surveying the known results, we show that none of the remaining classes is prov...
متن کاملAdditivity Numbers of Covering Properties
The additivity number of a topological property (relative to a given space) is the minimal number of subspaces with this property whose union does not have the property. The most well-known case is where this number is greater than א0, i.e. the property is σ-additive. We give a rather complete survey of the known results about the additivity numbers of a variety of topological covering properti...
متن کاملAdditivity of nonsimultaneous masking for short Gaussian-shaped sinusoids.
The additivity of nonsimultaneous masking was studied using Gaussian-shaped tone pulses (referred to as Gaussians) as masker and target stimuli. Combinations of up to four temporally separated Gaussian maskers with an equivalent rectangular bandwidth of 600 Hz and an equivalent rectangular duration of 1.7 ms were tested. Each masker was level-adjusted to produce approximately 8 dB of masking. E...
متن کاملRemark on the additivity conjecture for a quantum depolarizing channel
We consider bistochastic quantum channels generated by unitary representations of the discret group. The proof of the additivity conjecture for the quantum depolarizing channel Φ based on the decreasing property of the relative entropy is given. We show that the ad-ditivity conjecture holds for the channel Ξ = Ψ • Φ, where Ψ is the phase damping.
